Join us for a concert by Atomic Blender!
In his book Five Years Ahead of My Time: Garage Rock from the 1950s to the Present author and scholar Seth Bovey posits that “Whatever the actual number it would be safe to argue that the world has never seen an artistic movement as large as 1960s garage rock, and that never before have so many people been active in a subculture devoted to making and enjoying music.”
In keeping that spirit alive the inspired humans that comprise Atomic Blender—Butch Karn, Ryan Hawk and Kevin Oppendike—dive deep into the classics of the analogue era, forging a retro-modern style that’s both assuredly familiar and joyously subversive.
Attendees are encouraged to bring food and drink to this program. In the case of inclement weather, this program will be held inside the library.
The Summer Concert Series is funded by the Bettendorf Public Library Foundation and supported by our Title Sponsors: TBK Bank, Abbey Carpet Gallery, Build to Suit, Focus Development, and Monarch Restaurant; our Autographed Edition Sponsors: Bettendorf Rotary Club, Goosehead Insurance, and Mel Foster Co.; our Limited Edition Sponsor: Impact Life; our First Edition Sponsors: BankORION and OneStep Printing; and our Media Sponsors: KWQC TV6, and WQUD Radio.
