Read Local is a program that hosts local authors to allow them to discuss their work and processes with the public.
Bettendorf Public Library and the Midwest Writing Center team up to bring in six different authors throughout the year on a bimonthly basis. This month we are excited to host Rock Island author, Paul-Thomas Ferguson.
Dr. Ferguson does it all. He writes novels, poetry, short-stories, music, produces radio shows, web series, and feature films. With an extensive and credentialed background in history, including professional work as a professor and archivist, his writings often feature historical fiction with supernatural elements. This presentation will focus on his fourth novel, Watershed, set in the former town of Vishnu Springs, IL (near Macomb) during the late 19th century. The story follows a young servant in the 1880s who is plagued by disaster, not to mention dark supernatural encounters.
Stop in to learn about the writing process, influences, and other projects that Dr. Ferguson is working on. Following the presentation will be time for questions from the audience.
