Join us for a discussion of "Victoria the Queen".
Various exhaustive biographies of Queen Victoria (1819-1901) exist, but Baird uniquely focuses on her subject’s personal life. She discusses the queen’s devoted marriage to Prince Albert, the challenges of bearing nine children and being “the most famous working mother in the world.” 2019 will be the 200th anniversary of Victoria’s birth and reading this book is a nice tie-in with the “Victoria” TV series on PBS.
Books available for loan on a first-come basis at the previous month's Contemporary Books Discussion and after that at the Information Desk. Newcomers are always welcome.
