Once a decade, America comes together to participate in the decennial census, creating national awareness of the census provides the basis for reapportioning Congressional seats, redistricting, and distributing billions of dollars in federal funding to support your state, county, and community's vital programs. In this session you will learn more about the Census, how to complete it safely and securely, and available job opportunities with the U.S. Census Bureau. U.S. Census Bureau officials will be on hand to answer any questions about the Census.
The count happens every 10 years with the decennial census, which influences how more than $675 billion from more than 100 federal programs are distributed to states and localities each year. Here’s some of what the census numbers effect:
Medicaid.
School lunch programs.
Community development grants.
Road and school construction.
Medical services.
Business locations.
