Read Local is a program that hosts local authors to allow them to discuss their work and processes with the public.
Bettendorf Public Library and the Midwest Writing Center team up to bring in six different authors throughout the year on a bimonthly basis to share their work, as well as their experiences in getting a book to publication. Please join us on Wednesday, December 11th, for a presentation on We the Interwoven: An Anthology of Bicultural Iowa, Volume 2. Joining us will be Sarah Elgatian, a second generation Armenian-American with a lot of questions who writes lyric essays in order to grapple with them. She believes in long sentences, bright colors, dark coffee, and wicked clowns. Among other places, her work has been featured in We The Interwoven, CrabFat, and Beholder Magazine.
The Bettendorf Public Library has served the community of Bettendorf since July 12, 1955. We offer Library events for all ages, and our meeting rooms are available for public use. See more information about our meeting room policy at http://www.bettendorflibrary.com/services/meeting-rooms/.
